Cleanwater Blue Bactericide and Algicide
One of the mechanisms used to sanitize swimming pools is the copper ion system. This sends low voltage current across copper bars to release copper ions into the pool. These copper ions neutralize algae and other organics in the water thus helping keep the pool clean.
Cleanwater Blue Bactericide and Algicide is a solution that takes this technology a step further. It contains a carrier agent that can hold copper ions in suspension without reducing their biological activity. This carrier is the CW-286 carrier molecule which has a huge number of negatively charged attachment points. One of the two positive charges of a copper ion attaches to the CW-286 while the other is free to attach to an alga or bacterium cell. When it does, it destroys the cell structure of the microbes.
One of the advantages of copper ions over chlorine and bromine is that it is far gentler both to hot tub equipment and to you. While these traditional water purifiers can burn your eyes, sting your nose, or even irritate sensitive skin, Cleanwater Blue can actually make your skin feel good and fresh after soaking in the tub.
In case you feel more comfortable with some chlorine and bromine in your hot tub water, you can still use Cleanwater Blue as it is compatible with them. You can at least reduce the volume of these chemicals in your tub and their harsh side effects. Copper ions also will not interfere with ozonators.
Cleanwater Blue Bactericide and Algicide is a highly concentrated solution. Fifteen milliliters added to a hot tub with 300 gallons of water is sufficient to keep it clean and free from bacteria and algae for two weeks.
