Hayward Comfortzone Electric Spa and Hot Tub Heater

Hayward Comfortzone Electric Spa and Hot Tub Heater

Standing at only 11.625 inches with a width of 6.25 inches and depth of 6.625 inches, the Hayward Comfortzone Electric Spa and Hot Tub Heater is a compact appliance but it packs a lot of wallop, often beating other heaters twice its size. With its dimensions, it can be installed in tight places including beneath the spa skirts and stairs. It features a service-ease design that allows quick access to its internal parts for service and repair.

The Comfortzone is capable of heating from 200 to 1,000 galloons of spa or hot tub water. It has a 304 stainless steel tank where the water is heated before it is pumped out into the tub. The head is likewise fitted with a 304 stainless steel thread. The heating element is equipped with a safety sensor. A lamp at the front panel lights up if the heater is switched on.

There are two variations of the Comfortzone Electric Spa and Hot Tub Heater, the 5.5KW and 11KW models. In terms of energy efficiency, the two models are practically equal. The difference between the two lies in the time it takes them to heat the water in the hot tub. Ordinarily, it takes the 5.5KW twice as much time to heat the same amount of water as it does the 11KW. Electric consumption, however, for the 5.5KW is only half as much as that of the 11KW.

If you prefer quick heating, the 11KW model is for you. To raise the temperature of the water in a 200-galloon tub by 30°F, it will need 80 minutes. In a 1,000-galloon tub, time is increased to 400 minutes. On the other hand, if quick heating is less important to you because you live in warmer climes, or perhaps you do not use the tub often, the 5.5KW may be more suitable.
