Hot tub water can be heated either by natural gas, electric power, wood-fired heaters, or solar hot water systems. The heater features a 5.5 kW heater assembly encased in a freestanding box that is protected with a rustproof “paint-lock”. Inflow and outflow of water is on the same side of the box, thus a U-shaped 2.25″ high-flow heater housing is incorporated. To prevent rust, this heater housing is made of stainless steel.
A full range thermostat controls heating levels. The heater is protected from overheating with a pressure and high-limit switch. Plumbing consists of 2″- and 1½”-connections thus allowing greater water volume flow into the tub. All waterways are in stainless steel to protect them against rust.
A lamp indicating that the heater is powered up and that the heating elements are energized is mounted on the box. In the interest of safety, an on/off switch is incorporated.
