The Leisure Accents LASS36-SC-T Spa Step is made of high-density polyethylene or HDPE, a material that can be recycled by melting and reshaping, making it environmentally friendly. HDPE has greater tensile strength than other polymer plastics because it is denser than them. Also because of this density, it is acid- and solvent- resistant. In spite of this, HDPE remains lighter than water.
It is these HDPE features that make the spa steps the perfect companion for your hot tub. You need not worry about it collapsing under your weight, or staining and fading due to its exposure to UV rays, rain, and snow.
In addition to its use as steps into the tub, the upper step doubles as a storage area. The step opens like a lid to reveal a container where you can keep your chlorine, bromine, and biguanide, or any other items you might use before, while, or after you soak in the tub. You can even use it as a cooler if you like. Just pour cube ice into the container and insert your soda or beer cans into them. The container is removable, so you don’t have to worry about cleaning it up.

The steps are approximately 36 inches wide. Overall height and depth is 14.5 and 23 inches respectively. Tread depth, on the other hand, is 11.5 inches.
