Pleatco Premium Filters
Filters play a very important role in your hot tub. They strain all kinds of unwanted debris from the water such as hair, dead skin, leaves, bacteria, or other stuff that somehow found their way into your tub. For this reason, care should be exercised when choosing filters.
Pleatco Premium Filters appear to perform this job effectively. They are made of excellent raw materials and are of a good design.
The filtration surface, known as the media, is made of spun bonded polyester. These are of two types, the white and blue. Both are of polyester but the latter incorporates Reemay® Microban antimicrobial technology. By increasing the number of pleats in the filter, the media surface is increased resulting to more effective filtration.
The end caps keep the pleated media standing up even after prolonged use. They are 100% antimicrobial thus preventing the growth of molds, mildew, and bacteria that could cause foul odor.
The core of the Pleatco filter has a free-flow design, looking like a circular mesh with huge openings, allowing water to flow unimpeded through the media. Apart from this function, it also helps provide structural support to the filter.
In order for the water to flow through the pleats, they have to be spread apart and separated from each other. This is done through bands encircling the edge of the pleats. At the bottom of the cartridge is an adaptor that facilitates installation and replacement of filter cartridges.
