The Poly-Planar MA3013W is a pair of compact round speakers with a diameter of only 3.5 inches. Overall depth is approximately 5.0 inches. When mounted on your hot tub, 3.5 inches of the overall depth is below the surface while 1.5 inches is above. Although 3.5 inches in diameter, the required cut-out for mounting is only 3.0 inches, as the remaining 0.5 inch consists of a ring that remains above the surface.
Colored white, the speakers blend with any hot tub color. They are painted with a powder coating that is electrostatically applied, thus turning the paint into the speakers’ second skin that effectively shield them from rust and corrosion even in the presence of perpetual moisture. With its aluminum grille, corrosion is further resisted.
Installation is easy as all hardware necessary for the job are included with the Poly-Planar speakers. All wiring connecting them to the source of audio are also supplied.
All parts and components of the speakers are waterproofed including those that are concealed under the surface of the hot tub. Thus, even if water seeps into the inner chamber of the hot tub via the cut-out, there is no need to worry about damaging the speakers.
Each speaker has a peak power of 60 watts, which delivers great sound, particularly high frequencies. With a cone size of only 3.0 inches, bass is not loud enough to thump your heart. Nonetheless, when the sound output is combined with the hot water and massaging jets, you are assured of a truly relaxing experience.
