Raypak Millivolt 206 Natural Gas Pool and Spa Heater

There is nothing like soaking in a hot tub and having jets of water sprayed on your arms, legs, and back after a hard day’s work. It relieves not just your physical but your mental stresses as well. Yet, there is nothing more frustrating than stepping into your hot tub and discovering that the water is tepid. You can avoid this by carefully choosing your heater. A fine piece of equipment that you can try is the Raypak Millivolt 206 Natural Gas Pool and Spa Heater.

The Millivolt 206 is intended for outdoor installation. This is the reason why its galvanized casing is powder coated using a seven-stage wash system to assure perfect bonding between the two. Thus protected, the case is extremely resistant to corrosion even from chemicals that may be borne by water or other solvents. The design is very functional and is configured in a way that it is not affected by falling leaves or other debris, snow, rain, downdrafts, and updrafts.

Inside the tough casing is a stainless steel burner that is built to last. This is self-adjusting allowing it to burn steadily even if there are fluctuations in the pressure of its supply of natural gas. A spark-to-pilot ignition system is used to light it up. In order to keep the surface of the casing cool to touch, the burner is enclosed in a ceramic fiber combustion box.

The heat exchanger consists of finned copper tubes that efficiently transfer heat to the water flowing into the hot tub. In order to reduce condensation and the buildup of soot and scale, the flow of water into the tubes is controlled by the Unitherm Governor keeping the water inside at temperatures above 105°F.

The Millivolt can be paired with large pumps with high flow rates as it is equipped with an automatic bypass. This results in a low pressure drop and a high water flow rate reaching as much as 125 gallons per minute. Its water connections are made of 2-inch CPVC enabling them to withstand high temperatures.
