Rule Model 25PP Pool Cover Pump

A spa cover is, or at least should be, an integral part of your hot tub. It is a very functional accessory that insulates the hot water in the tub, shields it from leaves, insects, dust, and other debris, as well as prevents children and pets from unintentionally falling into the water. If your spa is outdoors as most are, the spa cover also protects the tub from the sun, snow, and rain.

Rain, or melted snow, can sometimes weigh down the cover causing it to sag in the middle. This could eventually damage the cover and allow rainwater to flow into the tub. Large spas in commercial health clubs and fitness centers are especially susceptible, but if you have a large spa custom made for you, this can also be a problem. An excellent answer to this is the Rule Model 25PP Pool Cover Pump.

The pump consists of a cylindrical plastic casing with an output port on one side. This measures 1 1/8 inch but the unit comes with an adaptor for a 3/4-inch hose. Inside is an impeller made of nylon that spins on a stainless steel shaft. Teflon seals keep water from leaking out of the pump. It rests on a wide base that houses a strainer preventing the entry of debris that could clog water passages.

A 24-foot power cord supplies electricity to the pump. This activates the impeller every 2 ½ minutes to check if there is water on the cover. The pump runs for about 1 second, and if it encounters resistance from water, it will continue to run until it has pumped it all out. If no water is detected, the machine shuts and waits for another 2 ½ minutes before it comes alive again.

With the Rule Model 25PP Pool Cover Pump, you can extend the serviceable life of your spa cover and at the same time keep rainwater or melted snow from seeping into your spa.
