Some Recommendations for an Above Ground Spa

Spas are intended to relax not only your tired body, but your mind and spirit as well. The hot waters and the powerful jets should be able to loosen up those tensed muscles and free your mind from any worries as you concentrate on unwinding after a hard day’s work.
Such a relaxation, however, is only possible if your spa is fitted with the right equipment designed to deliver the best massage and the cleanest and hottest water you can stand.
Power systems in the United States use 110 volts/60 hertz electricity. It is for this reason that most hot tub electric heaters are designed along this rating. However, these heaters, which often use 1,000 to 1,500 watts, are often not able to maintain sufficiently high water temperatures when the tub cover is taken off. This is especially true during cold nights. While 1,500 watts are good for coffee makers and convection toaster ovens, they do not seem to be capable of effectively heating a spa full of water.
With a 110 volt-powered hot tub, often, when the heater is running, there is not enough electricity to run the jets. Converting to 220 volts, though more expensive, will provide you with more muscle to effectively run the heater and jets at full power at the same time.
To keep your tub clean at all times, consider installing a two-pump system –a small pump to circulate and heat the water 24 hours a day and a bigger pump to run the jets which is only turned on while you are in the tub. There are small pumps that run on 100 watts, which you can attach to a Corona Discharge Ozonator to continually disinfect the tub all day. Although the amount of water they can pump through the heater is minimal, it is enough to maintain high temperature levels with the help of the spa cover.
You can turn on the bigger pump to power up the jets for a relaxing massage. This also increases the rate of flow of water through the heater thus maintaining high water temperatures. The more jets you spa has, the bigger the pump you need. As an alternative, you can install jets with manual controls so that they do not have to be all open at the same time.
Start with these two recommendations, although there are plenty more that your can adopt, and you are on your way to a nice, soothing, and peaceful evening in your spa.
