SpaCap Spa Cover

While most spa covers utilize rigid foam as insulator, the SpaCap Spa Cover uses air trapped in air chambers. This concept was developed in 1976 by SpaCap and indeed, it has proven to have its own advantages.
The use of air chambers allows the cover to float on the spa water. This means that its weight is supported by the water itself with the result that it will not collapse even when weighted down with rain or snow. Another, and perhaps more important, advantage is the elimination of the process of evaporation and condensation that occurs in the space between the bottom of the cover and the hot water. Hot water rises as steam from the water surface. Because the cover is cooler, the steam is cooled and eventually condensed. This cooler water drops back into the tub thus cooling the water.
All SpaCap Spa Covers are custom made to perfectly fit your hot tub. You can choose its exterior color, even include a skirt of another color, and an extra interior chamber in addition to the two standard chambers.
For the exterior cover you can choose between standard and deluxe options. Standard covers consist of heavy-duty 30-ounce marine vinyl. This resists the formation and growth bacteria and mildew. All major seams are double-stitched for durability. Deluxe, on the other hand, is recommended if your hot tub is outdoors. These are made of Sunbrella fabrics that are designed to withstand exposure to the sun, rain, or snow without strength or color loss.
Deluxe fabrics are available in six colors –cadet gray, forest green, brown, blue, sea spray, and charcoal. If none of these suits your fancy, you can go for Premium Deluxe where you have a choice of over 60 colors. If you want the cover in two tones, ask for a skirt with a color that matches the cover. Like the Premium Deluxe option, there are over 60 colors to choose from.
Standard SpaCap covers have two separate air chambers. If you want additional insulation, you can opt for a third. A special type of insulation material, called the Reflectix, is also available. This is made of two sheets of 99% pure aluminum that are separated by 5/16-inch dead air space. This blocks 97% of radiant heat, bouncing back heat from the spa if ambient air is cooler, and away from it if hotter.
Since SpaCap Spa Covers are custom made, you will need to submit your spa’s measurements, along with your choice of colors and interior, to the company when ordering a unit.
